The department is headed by the Director General Valuation whose functions and duties are set forth under the Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents Act 1981 (Act 242). The Act also provides that the Director General is appointed as President of the Board of Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents, Malaysia.
JPPH operates from 52 branches covering Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak, led by 14 directors and 38 State Assessment District Valuer. JPPH Headquarters is responsible for planning policies, strategies and procedures for all programs and activities of the department.
